Chief Forester’s Standards for Seed Use

 

On June 18th, 2021 the Chief Forester released a memo informing seed users and producers of the intent to amend the Chief Forester’s Standards for Seed Use to remove the Geographic Based Seed Transfer (GBST) option as of August 2022. To review the memo outlining the next phase of the transition to Climate Based Seed Transfer, please use the link provided:

2024 Scholarship Recipients

Emma Lloyd. Lives in the Thompson Shuswap area. She is pursuing a Bachelors of Natural Resources degree at Thompson River University with a specific interest in sustainable forestry and forest regeneration with a particular interest in post wildfire silviculture. She has worked at PRT Skimikin (sponsor) to earn funds for university.

Teagan Findlay. Is from Canoe BC and is also pursuing a degree in Natural Resource Sciences at Thompson River University. She has an interest in conservation work, wildlife, Forestry, or Parks Canada. She has worked at Mount Ida (sponsor) a forest seedling nursery also to raise funds for university.
